nice theatre, friendly staff, seats decent width. Drawback is seats glide so when you press down on the back of the seat, the bottom cushion lunches forward. It's nice when sitting but when standing (for a concert) if the person behind you keeps hitting the seat, then you are getting the bottom part of the seat jammed i to the back of your legs. I had a bozo behind me that repeatedly did this all night and my legs got beaten up pretty badly. But its nothing that some manners and consideration can't fix.
Wonderful step back in time visiting this little town and theater. I will say I heard guests complaining about the seating as they were the old original theater seats that move in a strange way when you're trying to scooch back into them. I didn't have a problem with it but I could see how bigger people might feel a bit too snug in them. I think it's great that they preserved the old classic seats though. I didn't have any trouble getting comfortable and enjoying the show. The sound system and light show was great even from where I was way back in the cheap seats 😅. It was really cool about the new lights dance along the old theater ceiling so in a way maybe I got more of a show being at the back and getting to see the whole place lit up like that. How much far enough back that Tommy Emmanuel looked pretty small on the stage though so large projections of him would have been nice but on the other hand the absence a screens preserves the old school feel of the place and maybe that's more special. The ushers were very on top of things helping people get to their seats. Yesterday's insecurities also would occasionally do a stroll through the theater and stop people from recording with their phones. I did find myself a little bit distracted by that and wondering if that was any less distracting than people filming with their phones. I guess that can be up for debate but either way you can just ignore it and enjoy the show as I certainly did. Parking did seem pretty Limited considering the capacity of the theater so I would say it's one very big incentive to get there a bit early and avoid the stress of trying to find a parking spot.
We loved the smaller venue. You didn't feel lost in a crowd. The staff and concert goers were all very friendly, kind and helpful. Now that we know about the Keswick Theatre, we'll definitely be back for more shows! 👍👍
Great venue!!! Very intimate. We saw Tommy Emmanuel last week & the view and acoustics were fabulous. Looking forward to the next show.
Lines moves systematically through security and into the building. Feels quaint and like you're going back in time. All ushers were super helpful and kind, not just with me and my party but everyone who needed help, despite being so crowded. Would like to visit again in future!
