I saw Operation Mincemeat here. The theater is intimate, it seats 800 people. I was told to get a seat in the front of the theater because it wasn't designed for musicals. I was in row O, which is nearer to the back. The acoustics were good, I had no problem hearing the lyrics and dialog.
This is a small but nice Broadway theater where we saw "Operation Mincemeat" last weekend. The actors were amazing as they all played multiple roles. And there was not just a story but a musical as well. Set in WWII, it tells the story of how the British were able to divert an invasion of Sicily. I won't say anything more, but I will say this. Cheers to the cast! You were awesome!!!
Such a lovely classic style theater. We were in very high up seats and I felt the sound was a bit garbled and at times the lyrics and speech a bit hard to decipher but over all the show and venue were amazing. Operation mincemeat is a fantastic musical rendition of a fascinating piece of WWII history done in pantomime farce style. Loved it
I saw the Operation Mincemeat last month. I have mixed feelings. I was my first Broadway show, so I cannot compare it to the same kind of things. On one hand, it's feels like a super quality, a Rolls-Royce. The singing to me was like Grammy stars, the choreography and sudden changes of scenes - extremely artful. Actors great, but some of them overdoing it. A lot of silly jokes (penis-anus etc), and even with the beautiful letter-song I felt as if they were trying to artificially make me feel sad and sentimental. Maybe you can't have it otherwise on Broadway, I don't know. But it was veeery interesting to me to see. Also I bought a 50% discount ticket at David Rubinstein atrium same day
I just enjoyed seeing Operation Mincemeat here. It was, funny, enjoyable and a nice night out on Broadway. The theater itself has lots of character and history.
