The Oxnard Performing Arts Center serves as the cultural heart of this vibrant coastal city, presenting an eclectic mix of classical music, theater, jazz, and dance performances. This versatile venue has established itself as a cornerstone of Ventura County's arts scene, drawing both local audiences and visitors from across Southern California with its diverse programming that spans intimate jazz sessions to grand theatrical productions.
The center creates an inviting atmosphere where music and performance come alive in an intimate setting. Whether you're experiencing the smooth sounds of a jazz ensemble or the dramatic intensity of a theatrical performance, the venue's design ensures that every seat offers a connection to the artistry on stage. The acoustics support both spoken word and musical performances, making it equally suited for lectures and concerts.
Nestled in Oxnard, the performing arts center benefits from the city's unique position between the Pacific Ocean and the rolling hills of Ventura County. The surrounding area reflects Oxnard's agricultural heritage and growing cultural identity, with the venue serving as a gathering place for the community's increasingly diverse artistic interests. Finish dinner 30+ minutes before showtime. Most restaurants offer pre-theater menus.
Highly recommended, especially for evening performances. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Most listed restaurants are within 5-10 minutes walk. Factor in extra time during busy hours.

Some very good events at the Oxnard Canyon. Rio High School Dance show and 2 wedding receptions, and a quinceañera. Very nice events.
The catrina face painting class was so much fun. And the performances of the children who put on plays have been excellent
The one and only complaint I have is that there are a LOT of trip, slip and fall hazards at this facility: no handrails anywhere. Uneven steps to the top levels, slippery carpet, inclined floors. If you are wearing any sort of hard-soled dress shoes or heels PLEASE use extra caution when walking on carpeted areas, particularly the stairs. It can be very dangerous.
Who would have thought that the city of Oxnard would have its own Performing Arts Center? Well I am blown away by this venue. I recently attended the Pink Martini concert at this venue. The patrons ranged in age from old to young. Every one attending was well received by the most helpful and friendly staff. You couldn't walk more than 15 feet before someone with a smile asked if they could assist you. A beautiful plaza awaits you at the entrance. They have a small but efficient beverage center. The venue holds close to 1000 people. The only negative is that the aisles are undulating and difficult to walk for the older patrons. It was easy with the ushers to find your seats. The exit was quick and efficient. I almost forgot that the parking was plentiful and free. This venue is a true gem for Oxnard.
The Assistant Manager Gil, and House Manager Kim are Very Unprofessional, rude, and like to belittle people. Pls note, that when they realized they had fruit flies and bugs in liquor bottles, they had workers sifting out the bugs out, then placing the liquor back into the bottles. That's very unsanitary. This place deserves 0 stars in my opinion.
