This made for a great date night. My wife and I have attended other live theater locations and but this one had amazing talent. We attended the opening night of Cabernet and were pleasantly surprised with the artist’s ability to sing, wow they could sing. I happened upon this theater because it is the oldest operating theater in Michigan and one of the oldest in the country so a headline like that had me intrigued enough to at least read the article, but to find out it wasn’t to far away from me to go there and back in a night, we decided to make it a special date night, an anniversary celebration in fact. Then to find out it was opening night awesome. But back to the headline of the oldest in Michigan I just assumed it was going to look a little run down (like it was old and you could tell), but the whole place looks great you couldn’t tell it was more than 50 years old. With updated seats and bathrooms, an updated concessions and even a bar up front. Definitely worth coming back again and again!
Great old theater, beautifully restored with talent that punches way above the expectation for a small town.
The oldest running theatre in Michigan, some wonderful shows and good actors and actresses - gave it a four because even though most are adult themed shows, children, even babies, are allowed in, making the theatre experience tarnished by bored kids and a baby cries.
Very first time I came here was ANNIE on the 17th of August. At first I thought it was going to be a long afternoon. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for it to get going for me. I thought I was just going to see a bunch of kids getting up and out of their beds for 2+ hours. Then as it got going... I was like "hell yeah" this is awesome. The guy that played President Roosevelt had me rolling. Wheeling around in the wheel chair and singing 😂 It was a damn good afternoon there. Really looking forward to "Bonnie and Clyde" in October and my buddy said "There will probably be shooting"(blanks of course)"🤣
First time here and loved it! Well worth the hour drive for their productions.
