I absolutely love the House of Blues Houston. No matter which room you’re in — especially the Peacock Room, my personal favorite — it’s always a super chill vibe with great service and never a bad view. The sound is consistently solid, and I just enjoyed a comedy show at Punchline, which is part of House of Blues, and it was fantastic. Plus, the affordable valet makes the whole night effortless and takes all the guesswork out of parking. One of my favorite spots in the city.
First time going last night and it was an awesome experience! Husband and I saw Ocean Valley and the vibes were great. Cozy atmosphere and it didn’t feel like we were on top of people. The only cons I have are the food and bathrooms. The bathrooms downstairs were nice but upstairs the toilets were pretty gross. The food wasn’t great either. For the price I didn’t expect something that seemed like microwaved frozen food. Didn’t hinder my experience though! 🤍 They should also look into making the area more wheelchair accessible. Inside there was a ramp on the side closer to the entrance but not on the opposite side where the elevator is. Just steps/stairs. It didn’t affect me directly but I noticed how it affected others.
A great Venue for shows... saw The Crystal Method and Paul Oakenfold and it was so amazing!!!! They put on a badass set! Bartender did a mix for Lords of Acid and was so super cool! Really, go see a show and have some fun!
Came for first time with hubby to see Boney James. It was awesome but unfortunately the balcony left seats are not an optimum view and we had to watch the television to our left to see him unless he came to the center of the stage. We also purchased tickets for the restaurant but the menu they had was "limited" unbeknownst to us. The entrance to the facility was extremely hard to find. Not to mention when the venue ended, there was NO ONE to tell us which way to exit and when I say EVERYONE was walking in circles, I'm not exaggerating. We finally came out of the building 3 blocks over from our car. And it is NOT safe to be walking downtown in Houston at night dressed up.
House of Blues is easily one of my top 3 venues in Houston — both the main room and the Peacock Room always deliver. Great sound, great sightlines (truly no bad view in the house), and the crowds are usually super chill and respectful. Staff and bar team are always kind and efficient, too. I’ve seen everyone here — from Andrew Bird to Snoop Dogg, Tracy Morgan, Nicole Byer, and Midnight Generation and a handful of other folks. Ticket prices are consistently reasonable, and the lineup ranges from big names to underground gems across music, comedy, and performance. Always something worthwhile on the calendar. Pro tip: sign up for their emails and check the schedule often — the variety is so good. Also… they host this Shrek event all the time and I’m always wondering if I should go 😂🧅 Parking: GreenStreet garage is right next door and usually about $10 on weekdays. Easy in and out. Bathrooms: plenty of bathrooms, always well maintained and staffed. Cocktails: standard to themed, regular venue prices you would expect
