Truly a gem - every possible type of seating, from traditional theater seats to barstools to chairs to banquettes. And the Great Lakes Theater puts on a wonderful season every year with truly fresh takes on the classics - not the “what if we made them high school students in the 80’s” kind of takes, but “what if we reexamined this work in light of the world it was written in and how it is relevant to our modern audiences.” Also a strangely large assortment of snacks available at the concession stand for live theater. Note that this is the one Playhouse Square theater not physically connected to the others, so make sure you know where you’re going before you park.
Second visit to the Hanna Theater and was great yet again.. we literally have only been to Cleveland twice - and both times we enjoyed shows at the Hanna Theater. This time we accidentally bought tickets for the weekend prior but will call staff was able to fix the issue and get us great seats without a change in price. Last time, we saw Murder on the Orient express - amazing! This time, we saw Peter and the Starcatcher - really great. Not to mention the pretzel at concessions is so good lol
One of the smaller theatres but it was definitely nice. Roomier then other places where patrons are crammed together. Staff was nice and helpful.
The renovation of the Hannah theater is truly fantastic. The seats are comfortable. They are wide enough that you don't feel crammed in like sardines. They are spaced out enough that you feel like you can BREATHE. And you actually have LEG ROOM between you and the next row! There really isn't a bad seat in the house here. We went to see Gabriel Rutledge here and he had us laughing so hard that I think I pulled a muscle in my abdomen. Lol I couldn't stop laughing and I kept trying to breathe but it was hard and after a bit it hurt to try to get my breath and then that just made me laugh harder. It was a vicious cycle of pure merriment! One of the best nights of my life. Thank you Gabriel, and thank you Hannah Theater. Also, much thanks to Scott, who was so helpful to us after my Mom got sick towards the end of the show and needed help. Scott was SUCH a blessing. He really went above and beyond to help care for her until my husband could get out of the garage and come around to pick us up.
Great Comet with the Great Lakes Theater Company! A fantastic experience with the cast right up with us as we enjoyed the show. I adore this musical and this was a great adaptation. The ushers were very helpful with a comfortable viewing experience. The $15 tickets for under 25 y.o. is brilliant, gives us students a chance to enjoy live theater and give some energy to the actors. Perfect show for the younger crowd too. I was happy to see such a full crowd.
