We saw Jeff Ross's new show at the Nederlander Theatre on Broadway. While the show was more serious and less comedy then we expected, the performance was still fantastic. We all had a great time and give much respect to Jeff for opening his life up to the audience. Would highly recommend his show which lasts through September.
I had the pleasure of seeing Redwood here today. Redwood is not just a powerful story—it’s a visually stunning production that completely draws you in. From the moment the curtain rises, the staging, lighting, and set design work together to create an immersive experience. The use of light and shadow, along with beautifully crafted scene transitions, makes every moment feel dynamic and cinematic. Whether it’s an intimate conversation or a sweeping, emotional reveal, the visuals enhance the storytelling in a breathtaking way. Beyond the aesthetics, the performances are phenomenal. Each actor brings so much heart and depth to their role, making the characters feel incredibly real. The story itself is a perfect balance of humor, emotion, and thought-provoking themes about identity, family, and history. If you’re looking for a Broadway show that’s not only moving but also a feast for the eyes, Redwood is absolutely worth seeing. It’s the kind of production that stays with you long after you leave the theater.
Great little theater. We attended "Redwood" here and loved it. The theater has old world charm in an intimate setting. There isn't a bad seat in the house. We would absolutely see something here again!
My husband and I travel to New York City a few times a year to see shows. In 25 years, we have never had a bad experience with concessions or seating until this past weekend. Beware of the freestanding chairs at the end of the aisles (see my attachment) because mine was broken. Also, the concessions staff were not very friendly. I know serving drinks for that half hour before the show is stressful, but they need to hire someone that can handle it and be pleasant and efficient- other theatres offer that. When I complained about how uncomfortable my chair was in an email they said that those are normally reserved for handicapped people so they can remove the chair if the person wants to sit in their wheelchair, which is even more upsetting that they have broken chairs for disabled people. When I requested a refund for one ticket they only offered to make my experience better the next time. I love Idina Menzel and I’m sure this was a great show, but I was in so much pain, I was just waiting for it to end. Broadway shows are special and staff should either ensure a comfortable experience or compensate those that are terrible. P. S. Also see the attached photo of my husband’s view. That’s luck at the draw so I didn’t request a refund for that seat. You can’t make this stuff up lol. The good news is I loaded up on Motrin and we went to the Lyceum the following night and saw Oh Mary for the second time this month where everyone was friendly and the seats and view were great.
Great play and great acting. Idina Menzel has a beautiful and very powerful voice. The play will leave you emotionally drained but extremely satisfied. I highly recommend this play which runs almost 2 hours with no break.
