The Cullen Performance Hall itself is awesome! Well kept and maintained. We sat near center and could see the stage just fine. The staff is friendly and helpful. While well maintained there are only 3 bathrooms for each sex, with one stall and for the men one urinal. Not nearly enough for that size venue. Though staffed by friendly helpful folks the two snack "bars" are tiny and the wait can be a while. Sodas, alcohol and water with candies and chips for munchies. For me the prices were kinda steep but not totally out of line. What dropped my rating to 4 stars was the app to pay for parking a total pain to use, AMP Park. Go ahead and install it and have it ready before you get there. Remember you'll need your license plate. Fortunately there was a super awesome attendant that clued us in. Please, please just add a QR code and reduce the number of fields needed to check in.
Beautiful venue for just about any venue. Was fortunate enough to see Terence Blanchard and Ravi Coltrane (John Coltrane's son) perform here. Visibility is great from all seats, no obstructions. Drinks and spirits available during intermission and the event attracted a very well behaved, respectful, and friendly audience. Parking is within a short walking distance. Staff was friendly, courteous, and very helpful. Sound engineering could have done a better job especially for this venue.
Enjoyed a comedy concert here. Entry was delayed as one of the metal detectors failed when we were 4 people from passing. Our bad luck, but it was quickly resolved. The promoter made it a point to alert us that clear bags were mandatory, which made it fast. . We had rather good seats, so our view was great. However, the size and arrangement made me think there's wasn't a bad seat. . The sound system was great. We sat near the stage, which can mean you are deafened. In this case, the level was conversational for everybody. . The only negative, and it was extreme, is that it took us literally 45 minutes to get out of parking. That isn't a reflection on the hall though, but be aware of what comes next.
The hall it self is decent and has a nice aura. The concession stands were too busy and couldn’t handle the crowd as the line was far too long and after two attempts I decided to return back to my seat before the start of the event. The exits gets into a bottle neck and not safe due to the volume of crowd vs only two available exits. Last but not the least, the welcome center parking was very busy after the show.
We had good time at Cullen Performance Hall, but lot of construction around, please take extra time
