An amazing, well restored and updated venue. We attended a Chamber Music Kansas City performance and by luck sat next to a couple who were longtime members who were kind enough to give us a quick tour. This was a burlesque theater back in the day with many vaudeville acts and jazz performances. The acoustics are brilliant and the feel of the place is just unreal. We'll be going back for more. And we live in Oklahoma so it's worth an overnight trip
It's a lovely local spot for the arts. The lobby and entrance are somewhat confined, so if the event is popular, expect to be in close quarters with others until seated. Inside, the auditorium is ornately decorated with good acoustics and wide, comfortable chairs for enjoying your show. I'm a bigger guy, and wider seating with decent leg room is greatly appreciated.
My husband and I had not been in this theater for many years and were thrilled to see the beautiful condition it is in. They have worked very hard to make the theater conducive to today’s patronage while keeping its original charm. We enjoyed reading up on the history of the theater, and are so thankful that it still exists. The acoustics were perfect! We watched a performance from the front row of the lower balcony, and felt like we were almost part of the performance. There were plenty of staff on hand and there was some bar service. All in all an excellent experience that we can’t wait to repeat.
First time visit to this pretty little venue, with 6 buddies. The interior was smaller than I imagined but super high ceiling and characteristic architecture made it feel roomier than it actually was. The seats are comfy but just like Uptown, this theater also has limited leg room between rows. You'd be uncomfortable if you had to sit for hours. I know I was. There are no cupholders to hold drinks or anywhere to set things down. I'd encourage very little hand-carrying items when visiting the venue. Went to Ninja Sex Party and they were amazing and hilarious 😂 as expected. They have evolved beautifully and it's now a more "classier" sounding bunch of ridiculous lyrics. They still love the fans and show tremendous appreciation verbally and are also extremely comfy with having a two way interaction with audience periodically. No mobiles were allowed to flim during the show but the band made room for that at the end. Brilliant reason was that they wanted to really feel connected to the audience. Will visit venue again. Easy paid parking ( -+ $10) for undercover garage. Bathrooms are easy accessible, there are balcony seats and concession stands. There is also a box office area if you didn't purchase tickets online.
Loved the theatre, super clean. Seated in upper balcony. Seats really tight. No leg room. No cup holders. Lots of history
