I had an unforgettable experience at the Academy of Music! The venue itself is absolutely stunning—historic, elegant, and full of character. I came to see Life of Pi, and the performance completely exceeded my expectations. The storytelling was powerful, the visuals were breathtaking, and the puppetry was nothing short of mesmerizing. Every detail—from the lighting to the sound—was perfectly executed, creating a truly immersive atmosphere. Kudos to the cast and crew for bringing such a unique and emotional story to life on stage. I can’t wait to come back for another performance. Highly recommend both the show and the venue!
We sat up top in the Amphitheatre, right of stage, front row. We had to lean forward to see stage over the front barrier, which was fine since the barrier is covered in a pillow top covering. It was our first time there and I didn't know what to expect. These seats were considered obstructed view, but if you arrange yourself slightly forward, nothing is obstructed. Not for everyone but worked for us and I would sit here again if needed.
Always a pleasure seeing a show at the Academy of Music! Its a beautiful venue. All seats are great for viewing. Trust, Ive sat on the last row at the top once! The staff is always pleasant & helping. The options for service at concessions could be different, add more variety and options for various food consumption.
A Beautiful performance space. The staff were friendly and helpful. Seats can be tight if you’re tall and/or bigger. If you’re short, pray someone tall isn’t sat in front of you. Restrooms were nice and clean. The show was wonderful. Only complaint was some inconsiderate guests- some girls who came and sat behind us after an intermission (they weren’t there before, so it seems like people walk around and switch seats to better ones) talked to each other during the show. Some people cracked open a beer (snuck in) and you heard the annoying sounds of snacks being eaten. They shouldn’t allow food at the seats. Overall, a wonderful experience(minus the rude guests)!
This venue has great seating from any seat. It was my first time in the family circle seating. I thought I was going to have trouble seeing that far up but it was fine. Bring your penny jar, drinks -$22 for 8oz cup is a bit extravagant.
