Highly recommended, especially for evening performances. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Most listed restaurants are within 5-10 minutes walk. Factor in extra time during busy hours.

Saw AFI last night for the first time at this venue, and it was an incredible experience. Parking and traffic management were excellent! Easy in, easy out. The sound and acoustics were awesome, and the atmosphere made the show unforgettable. The bathroom was honestly the largest and cleanest I’ve ever seen at a concert venue, with staff keeping it spotless all night. Loved the sectioned-off area for guests with disabilities and how central the location is in Connecticut. Everything about the night was smooth and enjoyable! A perfect evening and a fantastic show at a great location!!!
Beautiful music venue, ample parking and nice location. Parking is very expensive. We attended a reggae concert and took my nieces. Was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED to find a large number of individuals smoking, and even more disappointing - staff did nothing about it. The concert itself was a blast! We loved the music and were really bummed that the smoke was so bad that we had to take my nieces out the concert less than half way though it despite no smoking signs
I haven’t had any bad experiences at the Oakdale all the years and shows I’ve attended there. Even w the extremely long and drown out bar lines, I still always manage to have a good time there. UNTIL the Reggae Rewind show that just passed. I have never been so disappointed, annoyed and upset like I was at that show. And I haven’t let it go since the show and that was almost two weeks ago. The security team that was posted on the right hand side RUINED the show for me. Like RUINED!!! I purchased second row seats VERY close to the stage for the purpose of knowing the Rewind show would be a celebration of the Jamaican/Reggae culture! I expected high energy from the artist and the crowd participation they expect. The security team literally REFUSED to let us dance, interact or move amongst our rows for the section WE paid for! I completely understand stopping others from coming DOWN to the stage but for us who PAID to be barricaded like that is ridiculous. Especially when you look to the left and center side and see how much fun they were having and how the artist basically stayed over there bc the security team wouldn’t let us intersect with the artist. I’m sure when the artist looked out at our side they didn’t see much enthusiasm because we were reprimanded to our seats like a middle school assembly 🙄 I actually can’t stop thinking about the one with the dreads saying “the 3 people in the front paid to stand there no one else did….” Like WE didn’t pay to stand there!!! I’ll actually never respect that team for ruining the Mr Vegas part of the show AT ALL when he thrives off audience interaction, and yet everybody was just bummed and mad!! The show was nice, the adults were well behaved and that security team RUINED it. Point blank. Please don’t EVER have them back. Or they can patrol the BACK like that were ppl run to the front. But this is not the economy to be blocking us from a good time like you top flight security of the WORLD CRAIG !!! It’s really never that serious!! Look at the pics you can literally see the divide. That really SUCKED for a reggae show!
I recently attended a show here and was really impressed. The sound quality was excellent—loud but clear, and you could actually hear every instrument and vocal. The staff were friendly and organized, which made getting in and out smooth and stress-free. The venue itself was clean and well-maintained, with a great layout that gave everyone a good view of the stage no matter where you were standing. Plenty of room to move around without feeling overcrowded, and the bar lines moved fast, which is always a plus. Parking and location were convenient, and it felt like the kind of place where both casual fans and die-hard concertgoers could have a great time. Definitely looking forward to catching another show here soon!
Great place. Easy parking, the lines for any concert will move quick because it's a small venue. Staff directs exactly where to go and what to do. Would highly reccomend a concert here! We had the pleasure of seeing Kate Greene and Maddox Baxton.
