I recently attended a show at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Asheville, NC, and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The venue's acoustics were exceptional, allowing every note and lyric to resonate clearly throughout the auditorium. The seating was comfortable, and the sightlines ensured a great view from any location. The staff was courteous and efficient, making entry and exit smooth and hassle-free. The recent renovations, including updated restrooms and improved HVAC systems, enhanced the overall comfort without detracting from the venue's historic charm . Overall, the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium offers a top-notch concert experience, blending excellent sound quality with a welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to attending more events there in the future.
Excellent smaller venue for events and concerts. Been here before and had to come back to see Tyler Booth opening for Aaron Lewis and The Stateliners.
Positive: • The acoustics/sound system. • The ushers are very friendly and helpful. • The parking is pretty good with garages nearby. Neutral: • AC is decent enough so you aren't uncomfortable, but could be colder. • The bathrooms are pretty clean and accessible, but most of them are not open after the show ends so there was a long line even for the men's room after a packed show. Negative: • The balcony seating either side of the stage; The sideways seats are too small for anyone over 5'-10" or 200lbs. My knees were practically in the back of the guy in front of me. If you're a bigger guy or gal (length or width) I recommend sitting somewhere else.
Nice place. Roomy. There are seats in the top level. Acoustics are not the greatest but not a bad venue.
"Had our first visit to this downtown Asheville gem to see Gillian Welch and David Rawlings on Saturday, April 5th and wow what a great time! It's super easy to find, and parking is simple with the adjacent garage. Loved that Harrah's seems to have modernized the essentials (clean facilities, accessibility) while keeping the main auditorium's classic feel. The sound quality was truly phenomenal – honestly, it made the fantastic performance even better. I'd jump at the chance to see another show here!"
