Finish dinner 30+ minutes before showtime. Most restaurants offer pre-theater menus.
Highly recommended, especially for evening performances. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Most listed restaurants are within 5-10 minutes walk. Factor in extra time during busy hours.

Can't tell you how many times in my life I've been to Shreveport n several by the Strand but being a native of Louisiana just couple south, I have never stepped foot in it til last not Halloween 2025. The office from police,Marshalls office, n security outside were top knotch, excellent gentleman. Then to top it off the staff inside where great n very informative. I met the Director n chatted til someone more important came up n I was forgotten. It's all good the politics. The building is 100 years old this year n it's a beautiful work of Art . They have done a marvelous job maintaining this old structure n you can actually feel the blood, sweat, n love they've poured into this beautiful old girl. Great job n the acoustic are fantastic even in the basement restrooms the live music of Blackberry Smoke sounded pretty tight. Great show n the band dressed for Halloween n did a Escape from New York theme. My first time seeing them live n hope not my last. Last but not least I love this venue for small intimate concerts. Not sure if my long review was plain enough, I Had A Blast n the Venue Rocks. 😎Keith(Simpleman)
Went for a folk song concert and had a great time. You can tell the place has alot of history to it and the inside is beautiful. Just wish the chairs weren't so cramped.
Beautiful craftsmanship! I suggest you take photos on the staircase. Easy to find, plenty of parking (lot across is free after 5 and so is the street parking)and Arrive early (1 hour is convenient). We went on a Friday evening and No traffic. The staff were so nice and ready to assist & answer questions. Unfortunately, the seats are the old fashion tiny ones (seems like made for kids) and no leg room. Of course it was built in the 1920s. I still enjoyed the evening and know you will too.
ABSOLUTELY the best experience!! The 1st time I have been there and would love to visit again. Went with a group to see Glen Miller orchestra. The band was so wonderful!! All the theater staff was friendly and helpful!
Beautiful theater. Not many left like this. Was there for the Sal Vulcano comedy show. We had great seats. We were just amazed at how beautiful the interior of this place is. Like stepping back in time. It would be awesome to tour the entire facility and look behind the scenes. We plan to attend more events and support this venue more in the future. One thing that does need to be addressed is the photography rules. It stated in the "what to expect" portion that photography is allowed, just not flash photography or video recording. We were quite rudely accosted by an employee telling us not to record or photograph at all, and if we did not put our phones away immediately, we would be asked to leave. We were not recording at all. Just took a photo. That was close to causing quite the confrontation. Was not pleased this lady put her hands on me first of all, and second we were not recording at all. Just snapped a photo without any flash. That was the only drawback to the entire event. At all other times, staff seemed very helpful and professional. Parking was pretty decent and easy if you arrive there early. Would be awesome if somehow some other businesses could return in the area and be profitable and remain open. Lots of potential there, it seems. All in all, it was a good time,
