Really cool music venue. I went to a GA show (Tallest Man On Earth) and found a great standing area very close to the stage. There were also seated options available. Drinks were reasonably priced.
Great place for a good concert, good sitting places on the floor for standing. Hard liquor is not cheap. $15.00 9.00 beers. But this place is the boom!
The State Theatre is an incredible venue for live music! I went on Wednesday for a Cameron Whitcomb concert, and the experience was top-notch. The theater has a perfect mix of historic charm and modern sound quality. Intimate enough to feel close to the artist but spacious enough for an energetic crowd. The acoustics were fantastic, making every note crystal clear, and the lighting setup added to the atmosphere. The staff was friendly, and the whole venue had a great vibe. If you love live music, the State Theatre is a must-visit in Portland!
This is a decent theatre with nice artistry and architecture, but obviously needs some updates to the bathrooms and seating. My biggest gripe about this venue is the sound quality. I've been to several shows here and the sound always suffers from muddy bass frequencies and obnoxiously loud kick drums that just kill all sound definition and ruins the entire experience. It doesn't matter where you sit or stand in the theater the sound is not enjoyable.
I was very pleased with the amount of accessible seating. Even the balcony is a great place to watch the show from!
