We really enjoyed this venue. We had seventh row center aisle and my husband loved it. The Indigo Girls playing with the symphony was amazing. I usually love watching the violin and viola players, but the cello players stole the show. They were perfect for this type of music. Well done everyone!
I tell everyone to go to the Schermerhorn when they come to town. The symphony always does a STUNNING job. I also get the pleasure of photographing weddings here quite often, and there is just not a more iconic backdrop for a classic event. The garden space lets you have that greenery/garden look for the portraits, the stairs make iconic bridal shots, the lobbies are great for ceremonies, and the large event space is STUNNING when studded with tables and candles and flowers. I've seen it set up dozens of different ways over the years of photographing here, and each arrangement is beautiful.
We were in town for the weekend and saw the Star Wars: a New Hope show. This is such a fun idea: they show the movie while the orchestra plays all of the music. We had such a great time that we'll look at what our local symphony offers. I also appreciated the support of the staff when I called in to request special seating. I inquired about the ability to offer seating without arm rests or wider seats. They had plenty of options and have the ability to swap out standard padded seats for high quality chairs. Highly recommend.
We went with friends for the rocky horror picture show. Had an amazing time. This is a beautiful venue!
We went to a show on a Sunday afternoon. The Symphony is located right around all the other cool stuff in downtown Nashville and is definitely worth stopping in. They even sell booze there if you want a cocktail 🍸 with your show. The staff is on point and ready to assist with whatever they can. It has an upscale feel as well. I'll be back especially around Christmas!
