This was our first time attending a show at the Gateway Playhouse, and it most definitely won’t be our last! We saw The Addams Family and I was completely obsessed from start to finish. The script, the music, the talent—everything was absolutely top-notch. The special effects and stage production left me in awe half the time; I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage! I’ve never been to Broadway, but I’m certain the Gateway Playhouse comes incredibly close. The entire experience was magical, professional, and full of heart. After the Addams Family we came back to see Phantom and were absolutely blown away. I don’t think we’ll ever get enough of their shows—they’re just that incredible. The talent, music, and production quality were breathtaking from start to finish. And that chandelier scene… I was obsessed! It was so beautifully executed and gave me chills. I honestly wish I could see this play over and over again. The Gateway continues to prove that world-class theatre isn’t limited to Broadway—it’s right here!
10 out of 10 haunted house was completely scared since I walked through the door and since I exited the building, the actors really take it to heart and try their hardest to scare you. The food there is cheap. The drinks there are a reasonable price. The atmosphere is family friendly, and the haunted House itself was completely terrifying. As soon as I walked in through the door I was scared every single corner the whole way through. I cannot rate any haunted house I’ve ever been to as high as this one because this one blows everything out of the ballpark this was truly the best haunted house I’ve ever been to, and I would say probably the best haunted house in Long Island.
Wonderful experience. The cast was great from the lead to the supporting members. I enjoyed the choreography. The strength and grace of the ballet moves were remarkable. The jumps and lifts were impressive. They showed strength and flexibility. Their inclusion added to the performance. Acoustics supported this musical. The balance between the vocals and orchestra was perfect. The use of the platform rising from below the stage added to the performance. Scene changes were flawless. The props added an extra layer of enjoyment. The boat scene was perfectly executed. I would strongly recommend this production.
I saw Rock of Ages there and I have absolutely nothing bad to say! Talented actors and musicians. Beautiful set. Fun atmosphere. And I just love the fact it’s in an haunted barn! I would go see another play there anytime. Maybe a spooky play around Halloween.
My wife and I are huge fans of Phantom Of the Opera. We have seen the Broadway play, several versions of the movie and two amateur plays. The story and the music was always the same. Today at Gateway we were looking forward to seeing “The Phantom” but the storyline and musical scores were completely changed. The actors and actresses were great. A few teachnical problems during the performance but that can be expected in a live show.
