This is one of the best performing arts facilities in Iowa. The acoustics are wonderful, and I remember being blown away the first time I heard the WCF Symphony perform here when it first opened. If you sit in one of the balconies, you'll get a bird's eye view, but it still sounds great. From the symphony, to the UNI School of Music, to touring professional performers in all genres, it offers a little bit of everything. The only problem, and my reason for docking a star, is that unless you sit in the front row or in an aisle seat, there is not much legroom for those of us who are over 6 feet tall.
We have attended dozens of performances at this facility and it is outstanding in every respect.. They host an incredible variety of productions as well as university-related performances. Highly recommended.
First time ever being there tonight for Rodney Carrington. Seats are awesome n comfortable, plenty of leg room , easy in n out . Concession area clean , prices are fair for pop n water . Ushers very professional. Place is clean. Definitely will be back.
I came from Fairfield, Iowa to watch the tribute band "Classic Albums live" they played "Sticky Fingers" by the Rolling Stones. Very well done and had a very good time!
Saw the Blue Man Group on 5-2-22. Venue is nice with a good layout. Live by the Mall and walked to College Hill 70 minutes prior to the show with 40 minutes to spare to get a quick bite... personally find it humorous that they offer golf cart rides for folks just to travel less than 3 blocks from the farthest - backend of the parking lot that's directly across from University Avenue/Gallagher. Only downside I've personally had with seeing entertainers at various performing arts venues is how usher's stop folks from taking photos/videos in show compared to seeing those same entertainers at other venues without issue.
