🎭✨ HAMIL-TEN: The Birthday Revolution! ✨🎭We pulled off the ultimate surprise for Kyree’s 10th birthday… 🎉 She had no clue we were taking her to see Hamilton — the 10-Year Anniversary Tour in Grand Rapids at DeVos Performance Hall! The staff was amazing! The cast came out and signed autographs after the show. Parking was so convenient and rather inexpensive for this type of event. It was easy to locate off of 196. The hall was clean and inviting. What an incredible evening! We had an amazing time
Absolutely loved the Broadway performance of Hamilton! The seats were comfortable and had enough leg room. Acoustics were on point and could clearly hear the dialogue and singing.
Bought tickets to see the Lord of the Rings with the GR Symphony Orchestra. My husband dressed as Gandolf and had all of his wizard gear, looking great and on point. When we tried to enter they told him he could not bring his potion bottles with him that were part of his costume and would have to throw them away. They are only water with a water enhancer added for color and flavor. My husband did not want to grow away his custom made potion bottles so we had to leave, take his things back to the hotel and return over 30 minutes late for the performance. Then, when we finally got in we asked about getting water and we were told we had to wait until intermission. We were very thirsty from having to hurry back to our hotel. We waited until intermission and then the lines were insanely long for both getting drinks and the bathroom; unreasonably long even for a concert. It was a bummer of an evening. We will not be returning.
Been here a few times over the years for classical/instrumental performances and the sound and sightlines are impeccable. Every seat is great. GRSO put on a great supporting performance my last visit.
Just saw "The Book of Mormon" and it was fabulous! The Devos Performance Hall has amazing acoustics and a wide range of seating including row, double & individual seats. We were on the Mezzanine dead center of the 2nd row. Easy to see down on to the stage. The only drawback is the lack of legroom for taller people and how low the seats were (not easy to get down into if you have hip/knee issues). Perhaps there are taller seats for handicapped people? Staff is friendly & super helpful.
