The theatre needs to perform better sound checks. I was up in the Mezzanine and the volume was way too loud. On the verge of being unenjoyable. And this was for Boney James - a smooth jazz artist… snack options were slim, you have to go down flights of stairs to find a restroom, and the bartender was unaware of the complimentary beverages that come with the Crown Club seats. Staff was freindly and helpful.Theatre had nice architecture.
This is a nice, cozy venue! There really isn't a bad seat in these old theaters, but they are cozy. Tall guys be warned, there isn't much leg room. There were plenty of drink stations, so waiting for a drink wasn't a big issue. The theater is easy to get in and out of in terms of parking. I used the Market Street garage and just walked two blocks to the theater. The Houston Street garage can be a bit crowded to get in and out of. It's not a problem if you leave early enough for your show. It was my first time in the Empire Theater, but I'd definitely go back again to see another show.
Beautiful theater and excellent sound for the concert I attended. Staff showed us to the wrong seats initially. They corrected the error when someone came to claim their rightful seats. Turned out our seats were better!
Witnessed history seeing the great 10cc band on tour for the first time in 40 years. Empire Theatre venue is great, no bad seats, great sound, and an intimate feel that makes ypu think the songs are being sung just to you. Great staff shows you to your seats & explains where restrooms & concessions are. Street parking is a short walk away. Love this "little" 95 year old theatre & it's charm.
Great venue with beautiful architecture. Very intimate setting, even with over a thousand in attendance. And there’s really not a bad seat in the house.
