I love old buildings. This theatre is so beautiful. My husband gave me tickets to Ali Wong for our anniversary. I was thrown off my the seat numbers but our seats were in even numbers. The inside is so different and has a relaxing vibe. I love that it's a smaller theatre and the staff are so efficient. We got in really quickly and security was tight. I really enjoyed that theatre overall.
Have been patronizing the Arlington for years, which has treated us to theatrical performances, live concerts, and movies, which all have astonished my senses due to the unique acoustics they have architecturally designed to reach any seat with gusto clarity, even to the very far reaches of this upbeat, vintage theatre. There is a friendly staffed, ticket, will call kiosk, prior to entry. Included upon arrival, there is conveniently located, the option to enjoy their wine and beer, brain lubrication station prior to shows, serving as a salubrious social club atmosphere as well. To participate by immersion with, even if you aren't a glass or bottle party goer type patron. The isles are well lit, the security there are there caring for the well being of their performances responsibly and safety, there are also ushers to guide us all to our seats if necessary. Beautifully restored building, even the old kiosk is still on premises, to remind us all of our roots before online sales tickets, seating success.
Historic Sta Barbara Theatre with old cinema vibe. A historic feel is highlighted by the dated interiors within the movie area. Outside the parlor are some interesting aspects of the theatre's story. The interiors are like a museum to the extent that you would like to imagine what it would look like during better days. Apart from the ambiance and unique architecture, the rest of the experience is much of like a regular cinema in any small town.
Fantastic venue despite AXS being clunky to use. Only complaint is theater let people get seated up to 45 minutes after event started which disturbs everyone else's experience. Cool interior, ample room for seating, easy parking, good food nearby.
I LOOOOVE the Arlington Theatre!! It's old world beautiful. When I was a kid, I used to think there were people who lived in the theatre. I have seen many blockbuster movies there over the years, and a plethora of concerts (Billy Idol, Steve Perry, etc). Once upon a time, I volunteered there as a theatre docent. The place is beautiful. The restroom has a Telephone closet! The courtyard bar and lounge area is amazing and spacious. Lots of seating. In the lobby there is a couch that was in the movie Gone With The Wind. It's pretty cool. There are two floors. Try seeing a show from the balcony, it's pretty neat. The seats are comfortable. I love the lights in the sky, they twinkle. The Arlington Theatre is the theatre that is lit up every year during the Santa Barbara Film Festival as the places the stars are seen and dropped off. On a hot day, it's pretty lovely to sit by the fountain in behind the old movie kiosk. I believe it's a historical building.
