Founded in 1984 as the Sandy Springs Chamber Orchestra and reincorporated as the Georgia Philharmonic in 2001, the orchestra is now in its 40th season. Local professional and amateur musicians unite to perform classical music that rivals professional orchestras, serving the communities of northern metropolitan Atlanta. The orchestra performs six seasonal concerts at Lassiter Concert Hall in Marietta, plus an annual DragonCon performance in downtown Atlanta and occasional concerts at the Woodruff Arts Center and Bailey Performance Center at KSU.
